Curtis S. Felix, CEO and Founder, Plankton Power
Mr. Felix founded Plankton Power as an integrated renewable oil company to provide competitively priced clean drop-in fuels. The company has developed a unique integrated algae crude oil production business which is on track to produce algae crude at $40/bbl. Previously, as Founder and President of Wellfleet Group, he supplied consulting services to large fuel users to integrate biodiesel into their operations. From 1998-2007, he served as General Manager of Petroleum, at Cambridge Viscosity where he worked with the world’s major oil and oil field service companies in exploration and production. In 1994, he founded and served as Executive Vice President of AVSG, a compressed natural gas company, and developed (at the time) the largest CNG station in the country, at Logan Airport. From 1983 until 1994, Mr. Felix served variously as in house consultant to the World Bank for Energy Efficiency and Cogeneration and consulted to and worked in the electric utility industry. He received degrees in Economics, Political Science and Biology from the University of Vermont.
Edward T. Liston, COO, Plankton Power
Mr. Liston has developed energy efficient power generation projects and renewable energy projects at DG Clean Power. Prior to DG Clean Power, Mr. Liston served Cogenex Corporation as CEO, President, and Executive Vice President. Cogenex was a international energy services company specializing in energy efficiency, power generation, and demand side management. Mr. Liston was previously associated with Shooshanian Engineering Associates, Tufts New England Medical Center, and United Engineers & Constructors. Mr. Liston received his M.S. in Engineering Management and a B.S.M.E. from Northeastern University, and an A.E. in Mechanical Power Engineering from Wentworth Institute. Mr. Liston is a Registered Professional Engineer.
Robert L. Pratt, CEO and Founder, Energy Climate Solutions (a full service ESCO for colleges)
Mr. Pratt was Director of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative’s (MTC’s) Renewable Energy Trust a $300 million utility funded public/private entity. As CEO and Founder L’Energia Global, a Costa Rica wind and hydro development company, Mr. Pratt sold the company for in excess of $100 million. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), a Washington-based non-profit organization whose members include companies and organizations in wind, biomass, hydro, solar, geothermal and other renewable technologies. He continues to serve on the Board of the International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC), the organization which he founded in 1984. The IIEC promotes energy efficiency programs and policies in developing countries, with offices in Brazil, India, the Philippines, South Africa and Thailand. In addition, Mr. Pratt is on the Board of the Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA), the organization of 17 state funds from around the country which promote renewable energy. He received an MPA degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, a JD degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a BA degree from Wesleyan University.
Joseph S. Fitzpatrick, CEO, TRC Power (2002 - 2005)
Prior to 2002, Mr. Fitzpatrick served as Senior VP and Chief Development Officer for the US subsidiary of International Power (IPR) from 1995-2002 where he was responsible for the development of 8000mw of new gas fired combined cycle plants in Texas, Massachusetts and New York. Prior to that he was founder and President of EUA Cogenex from 1982-1995 and previously served as Secretary of Energy in Massachusetts. He received a BA from Boston College and a JD from Suffolk University Law School.
Michael Summers, Managing Partner, CG Innovation Partners
Michael is Managing Partner, US and Asia, and co-founder of CG Innovation Partners. He has over 25 years of experience creating, managing and investing in technology ventures. He currently serves as a founding board member of Kodak’s Innovation and Materials Science Institute and recently served as a board director of Aurix, Intrinsiq Materials, Quintel Solutions, and Omni-ID. Previously, as a senior advisor to QinetiQ, SRI International, and NTT Corporation, he provided value creation and business development leadership. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Business Development for SRI International where he managed the process of shaping, selling and delivering technologies to the software, systems, and advanced materials commercial markets. Michael has managed new ventures in the US, Japan, and the UK. He has an MBA from the University of Connecticut.
